Club History & Membership
Charlotte Shag Club, or CSC, was founded in January 1984. Its colors are royal blue and white. CSC is one of the oldest shag clubs in existence and membership typically exceeds 300.

The club's President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant-At-Arms, are elected annually by the membership. The new president then appoints the various committee chairs -- Membership, Social, Communications, etc. The elected officers and the committee chairs, along with the prior year's president, make up the Board of Directors which meets monthly to discuss new applications for membership, financial matters, and upcoming events. All meetings are governed by a set of internally-written bylaws.

We dance on Thursday nights at Lynn's Dance Club starting at 8:00pm to a variety of well-known DJ's. On any given night, there is a balance between singles and couples, and a variety of music from smoothies to blues with some top 40 thrown in for good measure.

The club also holds shag lessons, special parties, and fund-raisers throughout the year. When possible, monies are donated to various charities as approved by the Board of Directors.
Membership
Charlotte Shag Club membership is open to anyone 21 or older. Membership runs from January to December, although people are welcome to join at any time. Dues are $30 per year.

Membership includes discounts or free entry to special parties/events throughout the year. Members will receive an ID card which should be presented whenever attending any event.
